Jahangir’s India

Highlights:

The translation drafted by me has been revised, sentence bysentence, by Professor Geyl, who has had the last word on allquestions regarding the meaning of the original text, but who isnot responsible for the introduction, notes, or index. For generousassistance in preparing the book I have to thank, firstly, Dr. deHullu, lately in charge of the colonial records in theRijksarchief, who traced the MS. in reply to my enquiry on thesubject; secondly, Mr. Bijlsma, now in charge of the colonialrecords, who supplied me with most of the references on which theintroduction is based; and, thirdly, Mr. R. Burn, C.S.I., whoobtained local information on many points dealt with in the notes.I have also to thank various friends, whose names are given in thenotes, for information on particular matters. W. H. MORELAND. MAY,1925. (Typographical errors above are due to OCR software and don’toccur in the book.)
